E.g. Integrating with DLGuard or RAP -- Getresponse is MUCH easier to get up and running and is more streamlined -- Aweber makes you jump through hoops because they are very concerned about the validity of their double opt-in lists.

"I just asked their live help, the 500 is based on
1. the calculation of Subscribers+Unsubscribers"

That's right, a little trick to squeeze a few more days out of the cheaper price is to make sure you delete all your unsubscribes.

It's a shame, I like Aweber more than Getresponse, but their pricing an unwillingness to integrate with self-hosted scripts make them a hard sale to most marketers. Nearly all my affiliate sales are through Getresponse now.

Cheers
Kyle

p.s. Comment notifier installed.

May I suggest Kyle to install "Subsribe to Cooments" plugin? I am interested to follow this discussion as soon as any new comment posted. Thanks

I just asked their live help, the 500 is based on
1. the calculation of Subscribers+Unsubscribers
2. all the lists's subscribers added up horizontally

All the subsequent price level is based on same criteria, damn it.

This way of counting can make you pay more very fast, before you monetize from your list enough to justify the cost of Aweber!

Hi Steve,

Yes Vaucluse is lovely, water on 3 sides and just far enough away from the city to be nice 'n quiet. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

I'm not promoting MC -- in fact, I probably won't be promoting any of the big guru launches this year.

Some of the products are great (MC is) and some are rubbish, but I think the actual "feast or famine" mentality that goes along with the whole launch shenanigans is slowing a lot of people down in starting their own REAL online business.

I'd buy MC through Moffatt's link so he can buy a haircut.

Talk soon

Kyle,

Are you marketing Mass Control 2.0? If you are please give me your site?

Thanks,

Steve

P.S. Was in Sydney over Thanksgiving (US Holiday) and took a bus ride to the Vaucluse area. Love that area.

It was a decent price jump. I'm sticking with the old plan for now. But, I will have to soon bump up the plan to a higher one as my list is growing quickly. Guess I will decide then. I'll probably stick with Aweber.

I do like how Aweber has awesome customer support!

Sincerely,
Tim Davis

Hey Lee,

Yeah it's a big jump in price -- at least for some people. Apparently the majority of Aweber's customers have less than 500 subscribers, so their costs will actually go down 95c.

I still think what they're providing is more than worth the money (although many of the new features only really help if you're using html emails), it's just that the price jump is so large it's putting a lot of people off.

Will be interesting to see how this thing plays out.

Cheers
