Hey Kyle,

Fantastic post and the newsletter was even better. I appreciate that you don't play the "hype game" that so many do.

I am *new* to creating an online business offering information products and literally have no list built at all. What I DO have (in addition to a lighter wallet!) are countless articles, courses, downloads, videos, pdf's etc. on HOW to build this type of business. I seem now to be suffering from "analysis paralysis" where I have all this info but find myself a bit overwhelmed by it all and in dire need of a way to manage my time better.

Your email newsletter came at the right time for me as I do realize that I need to take some sort of action if I am going to use all this info and do anything. I totally get the systems process you describe and actually printed out your newsletter so I could write in my own notes and action steps in the margins to help me move forward.

I am sure others reading this will likely think I am just a newbie to business but the ironic thing is that I have owned several successful businesses over the years and was very successful with each of them. The prior poster here made the distinction between what you are offering and the web/media tools that promote your offer--that is key to understand and was the "Aha!" moment I also got when finishing your newsletter.

Thanks for the motivation and the road map to get me moving Kyle. I look forward to learning more from you and putting your systems and programs into action.

Best,

Sean

Thanks for the kind words Steve, and your comments are spot on.

Regarding:

"How such a rational, hard working and practical person such as me could get caught up in the opportunity chasing, lottery ticket to success, B.S. was beyond me"

Mate I have seen it countless times... doctors, lawyers, family therapists, business owners... all falling into the same trap. (Hey, I did it myself!) Something just switches off in peoples brains and, even though they know better, they choose to buy the next program rather than work on actually building a business.

This is a HUGE problem and it's an ongoing battle with a number of causes.

Implementing systems in your business goes a long way to helping you focus on what's real -- creating value via business assets -- and I believe taking action and just getting SOMETHING positive going is a massive step for many people.

I've got tons of techniques, strategies and tactics to share in the upcoming newsletters, but peak personal productivity, processes and systems will show up regularly as they're just so important.

Kyle:

Great article... in fact, right on the money.

For over two decades I've been a successful entrepreneur. When the internet came along, I seemed to have lost all business experience and common sense I had gained over the years and, like a little kid chasing a puppy that just doesn't want it's tail pulled any longer, I started to aimlessly chase every single opportunity I could latch onto on the web.

$50k and 5 years later, I was still struggling to gain my senses and earn a living online. Unbelievable.

How such a rational, hard working and practical person such as me could get caught up in the opportunity chasing, lottery ticket to success, B.S. was beyond me.... until I understood exactly those things you spoke about above.

The internet is a MEDIA, not a business. It's a way to tell the world about your offer, but is not your offer.

To make it as an entrepreneur, you need to BE an entrepreneur... grow a real business with real value. Anything less, and even the successes you have will disappear quickly.

Anyway... thank you for telling it like it is, for your fantastic program Consulting Tycoon, and for your personal and professional support, information, and guidance.

Top Notch... On Target... Always.

"Keepin' it real, doing it right, being of service."
